Network Solutions stealing domains!

It's official, Network Solutions is stealing domain names from its customers (proof here and here).   EVERY domain searched for is automatically registered by the company only seconds later.  That's just one more reason to not trust registrars when you're looking for the perfect domain name.

I want to assure you that Ajaxwhois does NOT send your queries to ANY domain registrar and that we won't steal the domain names you search for.

You're safe with us, how does that feel?

Interesting -- I'd stopped using AjaxWhois for a while because I'd noticed that domains I'd searched for were being snapped up. Maybe I'll start using again :)

I am not being able to check extensions like ".com.br", for example "
terra.com.br". The email "support@ajaxwhois.com" seems to be with problems as well.

I find this interesting because I actually came to your blog because I have noticed a few times that obscure domains I have searched on Ajaxwhois have been registered with 1-3 days. It seems to me like you either review the results yourself or sell the queries to someone else. Any comments on this?

you (ajaxwhois) are good programmers but no lawyers, no analyst, no designer, no marketeers, and so on;
your site has such an incredible number of holes (of any kind and nature) that i definitively can't believe you are not "protected" by someone's interests

such a site would have been disappeared from years, and despite any evidence it is still there (and the same could be said for many (m_a_n_y) similar sites)

you already have a lot of problems, even if you don't know that, and you will see soon

your service is affordable?

ah!

your word is worth for what it is:

just a casual word, as to say, nothing

there is a simple solution: the bash "whois" command to do "your" "job"...

i can trust the bash, not you

thanks and adieu

I noticed the exact same thing, domains that I searched for are being registered shortly after using AjaxWhois.com

I experienced this! Found a great domain name, that of my hometown. I didn't buy it right away when I found it, I got up and went to the bathroom. When I returned it had been converted to a "premium domain" for $1800.00. AAaarg.

That's pretty interesting. I'll be sure to stay away from them.

Also interesting, I just found a domain I liked using your site, which was said to be available. But when I went to buy it it said Network Solutions already own it:
Updated Date: 26-aug-2008
Creation Date: 16-aug-1997
Expiration Date: 15-aug-2009

That was several months before I looked it up. How does your site actually check if a domain name is avaible? There's no IP linked to that domain, as far as I can tell. No site loads anyway.

So, if your site just checks to see if a page exists at the entered domain, it's not particually accurate.

Sorry if I've misunderstood something. I'm not exactly the most knowledgable eprson when it comes to domain names ^^;

Dear AjaxWhois,

After several days of wondering where you guys went, I found you today and I can't believe this happened to you.

I've actually found that registrars do keep an eye of domain name inquiries and if you dont register it right away, you may find that domain name registered not too long in future by someone else.

Have you tried to register a .is?

Network solutions costs way too much. You should sign up with WildWestDomains/Godaddy reseller.

Good luck!
